Biography
Grant Korgan is a Pioneer of Possibility. Raised on Lake Tahoe’s North Shore, this multi-sport athlete & engineer has overcome life-altering challenge to continue living the life of his dreams. Through multiple world-record setting expeditions, utilizing his High-Performance Mindset principles, and living a life of applied positivity; Grant has innovated a new way of thinking to overcome challenge by harnessing the unlimited power of change. A nano-scientist by trade and an athlete by passion, Grant’s propensity to pursue adventure, seek positivity and explore the limits of what is possible, has always taken him well beyond the glass ceilings of life. In 2010 a new chapter began with a paralyzing Spinal Cord Injury…and Grant’s approach to overcoming the complete loss of feeling and movement in over half his body would be no different to how he utilized mindset to approach engineering problems in his past. On January 17th, 2012, Grant became the first person with a spinal cord injury to push himself to Antarctica’s geographic South Pole, showcasing that “regardless of ability (or perceived disability), we have the power to push beyond our limitations and live a truly Unbreakable Life.” In 2019, Grant stepping into his life’s dream by earning his pilot’s license from the FAA. He went on to achieve his Instrument/Commercial/Seaplane ratings, along with his Tailwheel/High-performance/Complex endorsements. Grant is currently working toward his CFI rating to pay forward the magic of aviation with the next generation of aviators. In 2021, Grant founded the Moment Foundation, an aviation-based 501(c)(3), with the mission to curate life-enhancing, perspective-shifting experiential positivity for PEOPLE (1st responders, military, life-altering injury survivors & those hit hard by life) and PAWS (animal rescue missions). Empowering people to ignite their greatness is Grant’s passion. As a keynote specialist, Grant shares the High-Performance Mindsets which brought him from the hospital bed to Antarctica’s South Pole. In March of 2012, a tornado ripped through the town of Henryville, Indiana. Stephanie Decker, a 37-year-old mother, found herself in a life-altering moment. As her house began to disintegrate around her, she shielded her two young children with her body. Her dream home fell in, crushing her legs, but because of her heroic actions, Stephanie’s children were amazingly unscathed. It was a miracle that she even survived and made it to the hospital. At that point, doctors determined that parts of both legs would need to be amputated.
