Biography

Jesse Itzler is the author of the New York Times bestseller, Living with a Seal: 31 Days Training with the Toughest Man on the Planet and co-founder of Marquis Jet, the world's largest private jet card company. He and his partner sold their company to Berkshire Hathaway/NetJets. Jesse then partnered with Zico coconut water, which he and his partner sold to The Coca-Cola Company. He also wrote Living with the Monks: What Turning Off My Phone Taught Me about Happiness, Gratitude, and Focus. This former MTV rapper brings his “live life out of the box” approach to the stage and uses the wisdom and humor of his books to illustrate the importance of increasing your mental-toughness meter. Jesse’s resume is constantly being updated as he is continually raising the bar and adding to his LIFE RESUME. As a lifelong runner with a passion for endurance challenges, he completed an Ultraman (6.2 mile open water swim, 261.4 mile bike, 52.4 mile run) at the age of 53, the same year he sold his endurance hiking company, 29029 Everesting, to iFit (2022). This is not uncommon for the successful serial entrepreneur who built and sold Marquis Jet to Warren Buffet (2010) and partnered with Zico Coconut Water which they sold to Coca-Cola (2013). Jesse’s career start is unlike anyone else, he was a rapper on MTV (1991) who scored and sank a record deal, became the Manager of the greatest hip hop band ever Run-DMC and wrote the anthem for the NY Knicks and many others. He sold his jingle company Alphabet City, but not before he established amazing relationships with the likes of Jay-Z and others. He always says, you don’t have to be the smartest in the room, but you have to be the most passionate. He now teaches these principles in his Build Your Life Resume coaching course – where thousands of people have learned from his zest for life, and applied it to their own. When he’s not training with Navy Seals (Living with A Seal) or learning from monks (Living with Monks) – you can find him dunking in 36 degree cold plunges and sweating in surface of the sun hot saunas as part of his latest venture, All Day Running Co. This is a brand built on the foundation of combining race-like challenges & adventures (Half-Marathons, Marathons, etc.) and combining them with retreat like experiences (Hot/Cold Therapy). At the end of the day, his proudest accomplishment is his family – with 3 sons and a daughter, he and his wife, Sara Blakely (founder of SPANX), have their hands full.
