A heart disease survivor, Julie believes she was given a second chance at life. She believes that when she is helping others to live their healthiest life, she is paying forward on that gift. Julie is the North American Wellbeing, Resiliency & Disability Lead for Accenture, a Global Fortune 500 Company. Julie created the wellbeing program at Accenture in 2004 as a grassroots effort to inspire a unique employee experience and culture. The program has grown throughout the years from grassroots to a best-practice, award-winning offering across the globe. Julie's focus has been to develop a dynamic, holistic approach to wellbeing that inspires every employee and their family to bring their best self to work and play. An out of the box thinker with extensive background, Julie has won many awards for her work including a congressional wellbeing award from Congresswoman Joyce Beatty and the Top Health Leader in the US from the Employee Benefit News. Julie is also a published author, motivational speaker and entrepreneur (owning several yoga/fitness studios/retail lines) where her entire focus is within health, wellbeing, mindfulness and culture. Julie is a faculty presenter for a variety of wellbeing modules authored by Stanford University, Thrive Global, Potential Project and Accenture. Julie appears monthly as the healthy lifestyle expert for Good Day Columbus and has been featured on The Carol Alt Show with Fox News, The Marilu Henner Show, and several other national news casts. Julie has spoken and presented across the globe, including at the Tower of London, the White House, the US Chamber of Commerce, TED Talks, Solutions at Work Live, various national health conferences, the National Business Group on Heath, International Women’s Day, and the US Department of Defense. She was recently selected as one of “25 Remarkable Women” from Role Model Magazine and one of 12 ‘Women You Should Know’ in Central Ohio by the Women for Economic and Leadership Development (WELD) organization. Julie has been featured in numerous magazines including: FITNESS Magazine, Columbus CEO, Weight Watchers Magazine, Fit Columbus Magazine and others. Julie was selected as one of FITNESS MAGAZINE' S Top 10 Champions of Health and Wellness, was named a 40 Under 40 award winner, TechColumbus Innovation Award Finalist, one of 100 Buckeyes You Should Know. Julie has also authored a wellbeing program to help the incarcerated reroute their life and has been rolling this concept out to jails and prisons for 5+ years. Julie is currently a PhD candidate in Industrial and Organizational Psychology, and has a Master' s Degree in Education - Exercise Physiology from The Ohio State University, and a Bachelor' s Degree in International Business from Marietta College. Wrapping up her PhD, her focus for her dissertation is emotional intelligence, leadership styles and the advancement of women in the workplace. She has her Registered Yoga Teacher Training 200 hour certification with Yoga Alliance and fitness and pilates certifications from ACE, AFAA, ACSM, and Fitour. Stephanie Decker
In March of 2012, a tornado ripped through the town of Henryville, Indiana. Stephanie Decker, a 37-year-old mother, found herself in a life-altering moment. As her house began to disintegrate around her, she shielded her two young children with her body. Her dream home fell in, crushing her legs, but because of her heroic actions, Stephanie’s children were amazingly unscathed. It was a miracle that she even survived and made it to the hospital. At that point, doctors determined that parts of both legs would need to be amputated. Since the accident, Stephanie has been featured on The Today Show, The Ellen Degeneres Show, ABC World News Tonight as “Person of the Week”, USA Today, USA Weekend, and People Magazine. She was featured in Successful Meetings list of Most Reliable Keynote Speakers who surpass expectations.
