Daryl “Moose” Johnston received national recognition for his play in 1993, becoming the first fullback selected to the NFC Pro Bowl team. Spurrier is the former head coach of the University of South Carolina's Gamecocks football team. He is also a former professional player. Spurrier is a native of Florida, graduated from high school in Tennessee, and is an alumnus of the University of Florida, where he played college football for the Florida Gators. He was a two-time All-American quarterback, and was inducted into the College Football Hall of Fame as a player. Spurrier played professional football for the San Francisco 49ers and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers of the National Football League for ten seasons in the 1960s and 1970s. Pete Carroll is one of the best coaches at any level of football. Carroll has achieved the rare feat of winning a college National Championship and a Super Bowl. He won Super Bowl XLVII with the Seattle Seahawks and has built one of the most dynamic rosters in the NFL. As the head coach at USC from 2001-09, Carroll went 97-19 and won seven Pac-10 titles.
